This year we are creating a program that will help students and low-income community members learn the skills to bicycle safely, do basic maintenance on their bicycles, and provide them with a bicycle that they can use for transportation and fun.
Participants in this program will complete a series of structured courses with the support of co-op volunteers. Courses include 3 hours of hand-on instruction of basic bicycle assembly and maintenance, and 4 hours of safe biking. At the end of the courses, participants will receive a new bike, a helmet, lights and a lock. It will be the most fun and practical way to start biking!
Our goal is to help more people get around by bike, and create an inclusive, healthier, and more livable bicycling town. You can be part of our commitment by supporting our program in a variety of ways.
During Bike Month 2017, we are raising funds to purchase a fleet of bicycles to reward those completed our bike maintenance and safety classes. You can make a direct donation and receive a specially designed T-shirt. Our T-shirt identifies people who are active bicyclists and helping more folk ride bikes!
